Job Summary
As a behavior technician, you will work 1:1 in the client’s home or school setting using ABA methodologies. You will be trained on how to use play, toys, and natural opportunities to teach a variety of functional and daily living skills to children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other developmental delays.
Qualifications and Requirements
- The applicant must currently live close to the Orange County border (Long Beach and the surrounding area).
- Have at least 6 months of experience working with the ASD population or children with developmental delays.
- Have afternoon availability from 1 p.m.-8 p.m. Full-time applicants must have 5 days of availability a week, including Saturday availability.
- Must be energetic and creative.
- Be open to receiving feedback, and open to learning new skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and a reliable car to drive to clients’ homes.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
- Flexible schedule
- Must be able to pass Live Scan and DOJ FBI background checks.
- Being bilingual is a plus!
Part-Time Qualifications and Requirements (in addition to requirements above):
1 year working with children in ABA or related field
Essential Functions Required
- Be familiar with technology and understand how to use an iPad.
- Feel comfortable driving on the freeway to client homes.
- The ability to climb stairs in a client’s home if needed.
- The ability to jump, run, or sit on the floor with a client.
Responsibilities
- Work 1:1 in the client’s home using ABA and PRT strategies
- Implement data collection procedures set up by the case supervisor to evaluate goal progress.
- Collect data on stated objectives and bring appropriate provided materials (including toys) as needed to facilitate the implementation of goals.
- Be able to work independently and communicate with supervisors via Telehealth sessions.
